Frequently Asked Questions
1. What sizes of storage units do you offer?
We offer a variety of unit sizes to meet different storage needs, from small 5x5 units perfect for seasonal items and documents, to large 10x30 units that can accommodate the contents of a 4-bedroom home. For vehicles, we provide standard parking spaces as well as covered and enclosed options for boats, RVs, and trailers of various lengths.
2. What's the best way to store our boat or RV?
The best storage option depends on your vehicle's size, value, and how often you use it. We recommend covered storage for basic protection from weather and UV damage, while enclosed storage provides maximum security and protection from the elements. Before storing, clean your vehicle thoroughly, remove all perishables, add fuel stabilizer, and disconnect the battery. For boats, ensure it's properly winterized if storing during cold months.
3. What are your access hours?
Self storage units have 24/7 access available every day of the week. For boat and RV storage, access must be arranged with management.
4. Do you require a long-term lease commitment?
No long-term commitment is required. We offer flexible month-to-month rental agreements, so you can store your items for as long as you need without being locked into a lengthy contract. Simply give us 30 days' notice when you're ready to move out.
5. What items are prohibited from storage?
For safety and legal reasons, we cannot store hazardous materials, flammable liquids, explosives, perishable food items, live animals, or illegal substances. Additionally, we don't allow items with strong odors or anything that could attract pests. A complete list of prohibited items is available in your rental agreement.
6. Do you offer online payment?
Yes, we offer convenient online payment options for your monthly rent. You can pay using credit or debit cards, as well as ACH bank payments directly from your checking or savings account. Online payments are processed securely and can be set up for automatic monthly payments to ensure you never miss a due date.
7. How should I prepare my RV for storage?
Your RV needs special care when putting it into storage. Use this checklist to make sure it's ready to go for your next road trip:
Drain the Water System - especially helpful if storing over winter to prevent freezing.
Clean and Prep the Exterior - give your RV a thorough cleaning and inspect the roof, windows, and doors, resealing any cracks.
Tire Prep - inflate tires properly and consider covering them to protect from UV rays.
Ventilation is Key - keep rooftop vents open and cabinet/refrigerator doors open to prevent moisture buildup.
Clear Out the Refrigerator - remove all food to prevent odors and mold.
Protect from Bugs & Rodents - block off external openings and place traps around vents.
Lubricate - use graphite spray on locks and WD-40 on hinges and moving parts.
Turn Off the Gas - ensure all gas appliances and supply valves are off.
Disconnect the Battery - store in a cool, dry place and check charge every 6 weeks.
Add Fuel Stabilizer - extends fuel life beyond the typical 3-4 month shelf life.
Update Auto Insurance - notify your insurance company of the storage location.
8. What documentation is required to store a vehicle?
You will need to bring in three documents when you come in and rent with us. A government issued ID like a driver's license or passport, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Check with your insurance provider to see if your policy covers storing your car in long term storage and bring in a copy.
